TEACHING FELLOWSHIP RECRUITER

Leah joined EnCorps in August 2021 to support recruitment efforts in Southern California. The Indiana native relocated to Los Angeles after graduating from DePauw University in 2020, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education Studies. Being a first generation college graduate, she has a strong passion and commitment to improving the educational opportunities for low-income students and students of color. As a queer woman of color, she is dedicated to taking a thoughtful approach to recruting, one that welcomes empathy and awareness of identity. Before joining the EnCorps team, Leah served as a recruiter at Spherion Staffing where she gathered fast-paced experience in temp-to-hire recruitment. During her undergraduate experience, Leah interned in the Office of Admission where she was responsible for recruiting students of color from the city of Chicago – solidifying her belief that education was everywhere around her, even in the small conversations she exchanged with prospective families. Leah is excited to gain new skills and learn from the EnCorps team, prospective recruits and fellows!
