DENVER PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Raechel has devoted her entire career to increasing equity in education. She spent seven years as a classroom teacher, at a Title 1 middle school in Houston and a charter high school in East Oakland (where she was also the Humanities Department Head for three years). After leaving the classroom, Raechel worked closely with low-income high schools in Oakland for six years, through a nonprofit that supports students in becoming young entrepreneurs. It was during this time that she had an opportunity to partner with EnCorps and learn more about its mission and values. In 2018, Raechel relocated to Colorado where she supported working adults as they utilized their employer’s education benefits to pursue post-secondary opportunities. When she heard that EnCorps had opened a new location in Denver, she knew that she wanted to be a part of this movement to connect STEM professionals to teaching pathways. Raechel is thrilled to be working with secondary educators again, to continue providing students with the equitable, relevant, impactful education that they deserve. She earned her B.A. from Scripps College, and she holds a California Clear Teaching Credential in High School English.
