Bay Area Program Manager
Julia Defigueiredo has dedicated her career to expanding educational opportunities for underserved communities and cultivating inclusive learning environments. With seven years of experience as an elementary school teacher, she has taught in both the United States and abroad, where living and working in diverse cultural contexts deepened her commitment to equity in education and her passion for fostering multicultural awareness.
Her teaching has been grounded in building strong relationships with students and families, setting high expectations, and creating supportive classroom communities where every child can thrive. Julia is excited to bring this perspective to EnCorps, supporting educators as they work to close opportunity gaps and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
Outside of her work, Julia enjoys immersing herself in new cultures, rock climbing, and experimenting in the kitchen.
