Director of Impact and STEMx Tutors Program
Ramiro Lobo, Director of Impact and the EnCorps STEMx Tutors Program, believes education can be a powerful force for liberation and transformation, especially for communities and families that have been marginalized. His career began as a math teacher in Oakland, where he saw firsthand the difference that access, encouragement, and role models can make. He later supported recently immigrated students through tutoring and mentoring programs, helping them navigate new schools and opportunities. At EnCorps, Ramiro leads the evaluation of all programs and works to expand access to high-quality STEM tutoring. He uses program data to understand outcomes and equity, turning those insights into strategies that drive change for students and communities across California.
