Los Angeles/ Orange County Program Manager

Desiree Murillo believes that investing in teachers can create a lasting impact across entire school communities. Throughout her more than eight years in education as a teacher, induction support provider, student advisor, and co-activities director, she has grounded herself in educational equity, relationship-building, and creating learning experiences that help both students and educators thrive. A highlight in her career has been her work in a cross-curricular STEM setting where she developed a passion for working with STEM educators and supporting innovative learning experiences for students. She is excited to bring her experiences to EnCorps as she supports STEM professionals in exploring their own paths into education.

Desiree attended California State University, Long Beach (Go Beach!), where she earned her B.A. in English Education and her English teaching credential. She also earned her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. One of Desiree’s favorite parts of teaching is the crafting of new curriculum!
In her free time, Desiree enjoys reading, trying out new crafts, and spending time in the great outdoors.
